Before you buy a Lab Grown Diamond
A lab grown diamond is a diamond. Same carbon lattice, same hardness, same behaviour in light, and it tests as diamond because it is diamond. The only difference is where it was made. That is what lets us offer a proper spread of colour alongside the white stones, fancy vivid pink, yellow, blue and green, as well as the warm champagne and brownish tones that suit an antique cut.
Buy the stone first and the ring is built to it rather than around a guess. Our stones run from antique old mine and old European cuts through to modern brilliants, and the antique cuts in particular are worth choosing stone first, because proportions vary and you will want to see the one you are getting. Where a stone carries a GIA or IGI report we say so on its page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are lab grown diamonds real diamonds?
Yes. Identical material and identical properties. They test as diamond on a diamond tester. The only difference is that they were grown rather than mined.
Are they certified?
Where certification applies, by GIA or IGI, and we say which stones carry a report. Ask before ordering if it matters to you.
How long until I get it?
If the stone is in hand, about a week to prepare and dispatch. A custom antique cut takes around four to five weeks. If it is going into a ring, add two to three weeks for the ring.
Can you build a ring around a stone I buy here?
Yes. Pick the stone, tell us the design you want it in, and we will quote the setting separately and draw it before we make it.
